The obituary of Mrs. Rose Collett Officiating Ministers: Rev. John Asher, Rev. Cova Asher and Verena Asher Mrs. Rose Collett born January 28, 1922 departed this life on December 31, 2009 at her resideince. She was 87 years. Rose was born at Asher's Branch, Hyden,Kentucky the daughter of the late Richard Asher and the late Lucy Hensley Asher. By occupation she was a homemaker and had been a life long resident of Leslie County. She was residing at 34482 Highway 421, Bear Branch, Ky.,at the time of her death. Rose enjoyed gardening, going to church and was a member of the Pentecostal Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Frank Collett, two daughters: Grace Jones and Evelyn Philpot. She leaves surviving the following relatives: three sons: Bobby R. Collett of Corbin, KY, Donnie Collett and Marlene of Bethel, OH, Eugene Collett of Bear Branch, KY; seven daughters: Wilma Roberts of Big Creek,KY, Linda Smith of Ormond Beach, FL, Betty Morris & Steve E. of Oneida, KY, Sandra Kay Henon and John of Louisville, KY, Cathy Frisby and Sam of Flagler Beach, FL., Connie Gilbert and Stanley of London, KY., Tina Huff of London, KY; three brothers: Pearl Asher of Hyden, KY, Jimmy Asher of Dry Ridge, KY, and Bobby Asher of Corinth, KY; three sisters: Bonnie Hoskins of Carrolton, KY, Alice Beers of Warsaw, KY and Daisy James of Falmouth, KY. Rose is also survived by 35 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 11 great great granchildren and a host of other treasured relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Collett will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday - January 3, 2010 at the Big Creek Holiness Church at Big Creek, KY. with Rev. John Asher, Rev. Cova Asher and Verena Asher officiating. The interment will follow in the Bowen's Creek Cemetery, Essie, Ky. with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.
