The obituary of Mrs. Ellen Coots Morgan Officiating Minister: Keith Bowling Mrs. Ellen Coots Morgan born February 21, 1927 departed this life on September 3, 2008 at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 13 days. She was born at Coon Creek, Kentucky the daughter of the late Chester Coots and the late Betty Williams Coots. By occupation she was a cook having retired from working for Frontier Nursing Service. Ellen was an avid gardener, quilter, reader and cook. She was a member of the Hurts Creek Church of Christ and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County, Kentucky. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents: Chester and Betty Coots; husband: Brophy Morgan; one daughter: Betty Sybil Morgan Doty; two brothers: Ruben and Dillard Coots; one sister: Ida Spence. She leaves surviving the following relatives: her daughter: Venita Morgan Caldwell & her beloved son-in-law: Doug of Hyden, KY; three grandchildren: Ben Caldwell of Hyden, KY; Brent Doty & Shelly of Elizabethtown, KY; Brandon Doty & Laura of Franklin, KY; Two Great Grandchildren: Calden and Lydia Doty of Elizabethtown, KY; Sister-In-Law: Lorraine Coots and two young women whom she loved like daughters: Irene Boggs and Ellen Pace. Ellen is also survived by a host of other treasured relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Ellen Coots Morgan will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday - September 5, 2008 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel at Hyden, Kentucky with Keith Bowling officiating. Burial will follow in the Hurricane Cemetery at Hyden, Kentucky under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Staff. The following will serve as pallbearers: Doug Morgan, Brent Doty, Ben Caldwell, Doug Caldwell, Brandon Doty and Max Doty.
