Eugene Roberts Mrs. Edna Franks born November 7, 1940 departed this life on January 1, 2009 at the age of 68 years, 1 month and 25 days old. She was born at Grapevine, Kentucky the daughter of the late Frank Campbell and the late Clyda Duff Campbell. By occupation Edna was a homemaker and had been a resident of Leslie County for the past 22 years having moved here from Harlan, KY. Edna was affiliated with the Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents: Frank & Clyda Campbell; father of children: Alonzo Franks; three brothers: Monroe Campbell, Hargis Campbell and Colson Campbell; five sisters: Georgia Campbell, Hannah Campbell, Alice Couch, Adiouse Gibson, and Deortha Neace. She leaves surviving the following relatives: two sons: Russell Franks of Bledsoe, KY, Richard Franks & Lucy of Asher, KY; one daughter: Edith Collett & Chris of Asher, KY; one brother: Ora Campbell of Florida; one sister: Lois Spencer of Hazard, KY; four grandchildren: Oscar Collett, Christopher Alonzo Collett, Crystal Mae Franks, and Richard Carlo Franks. Edna is also survived by a host of other treasured relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Franks will be conducted on Monday 1:00 p.m.-January 5, 2009 at the Lower Middlefork Pentecostal Church at Asher, KY, with Rev. Eugene Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Cemetery at Leatherwood, KY, under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Staff. Visitation will begin on Sunday 2:00 p.m.- January 4, 2009 at the church.
