Homer Adams

The obituary of Mr. Homer Adams Officiating Ministers: Rev. Billy J. Lewis and Zallie Shell, Jr. Mr. Homer Adams born August 10, 1925 departed this life on February 27, 2009 at the age of 83 years, 6 months and 17 days old. He was born at Yeaddiss, Kentucky thew son of the late Toy Adams and the late Dallie Shepherd Adams. By occupation he was a retired school teacher and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County, Kentucky Homer was a member of the Nolan Mason Lodge #806, Pine Mountain, Ky., and was affiliated with the Church of Christ at Viper, Kentucky He attended Lees Junior College, Georgetown College and Cumberland College and graduated with a Bachelors Degree. Homer was also an accomplished poet, with several of works having been published. One of his poems was later made into a song. Mr. Homer Adams was preceded in death by his parents: Toy and Dallie Adams; two sisters: Mavie Adams, Helen Shepherd; one brother: Leonard Adams; Brother-In-Law: Leo Wells. He leaves surviving the following relatives: one brother: Walter J. Adams & Adeline of Lexington, KY; four sisters: Edith Treadway & Banford of Paris, KY, Opha Sebastian & Henry of Lawrenceburg, KY, Lillian Wells of Smilax, KY, Bernice Fields & LeRoy of Yeaddiss, KY. Homer is also survived by a host of treasured nieces, nephews, cousin and other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Homer Adams will be held at 2:00 p.m -Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel at Hyden, KY with Rev. Billy Joe Lewis and Zallie Shell, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Full Gospel Church Cemetery at Smilax, KY. The following will serve as pallbearers: Greg Spickard, Shannon Shepherd, Anthony Adams, Enoch Adams, Tim Sebastian, Kyle Hensley, Dustin Hensley and Timmy Sebastian.
