The Obituary of Mr. Pearl Dean Callahan Officiating Minister: Ronnie Melton Mr. Pearl Dean Callahan was born on April 2, 1955 in Hyden, KY., the son of the late Denver & Mae Coots Callahan. He passed away on Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Mary Breckinridge-ARH Hospital in Hyden, KY. at the age of 57 years, 6 months & 6 days. Pearl was a life-long resident of Perry & Leslie Co. By occupation He was a former Janitor for the Leslie Co. School System. Pearl was a member of the Cutshin Church of Christ at Smilax, KY. Pearl enjoyed communicating with his friends on his old cb radio, enjoyed visits from family & friends in which he would tell stories of how he would allow his older brother to be blamed for all his mischief ways. Pearl was preceded in death by his Parents: Denver & Mae Coots Callahan; Grandparents: Hiram & Addline Coots & John D. & Mallie Callahan; Aunts & Uncles: Nola Faye Coots & Raymond Finley, Ernest & Monray Coots, Pauline Coots, James & Tina Callahan, Lois Coots & Ira Ray. He leaves the follow relatives: His loving & devoted Wife of 37 years of marriage: Mrs. Pam Sue Callahan of Wooton, KY.; Brother: James D. Callahan & Diane of Mechanicsburg, Ohio; Niece: Melinda G. Callahan Ussher & Thomas; Great Nieces: Taylor Marie and Katilyn Mae(little Mae Ussher); Aunts & Uncles: Geraldine, Lucy & Ruth Ann Coots, Katherine Coots Brock & Robert, Lester Coots & Carolyn, John Callahan & Wanda, Paul Coots, Ronald Callahan & daughter, Angie, Nola Callahan Graycraft & Zola Callahan; Special Friends: Malcom & Eva Coots, Alice Barger, Amanda Barger, Wayne Patterson, Kenneth Patrick & Deborah Patrick; A host of cousins other relatives & friends also survive. Funeral service for Pearl Dean Callahan will be conducted on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel at Hyden, KY. with Ronnie Melton officiating. Burial will follow in the John R. Hendrix Cemetery at Wooton, KY. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Michael Melton, Jerry Smith, Rodney Callahan, James Callahan, Brandon Callahan, Wade Coots & Josh Lewis. Visitation will be also on Saturday, beginning at 11:00 A.M. until time of funeral at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel.
