The Obituary for Mrs. Laura Jones Morgan Officiating Minister: Rev. Jesse Baldridge Laura Jones Morgan was born on March 25, 1926 in Hyden, Ky., the daughter of the late Sherman & Hallie Woods Jones. Laura passed away on Sunday June 9, 2013 at the Mayfair Manor in Lexington, KY. at the age of 87 years, 2 months & 15 days. Laura had been a resident of Lexington since 1987. By occupation Laura was a former employee for the Mary Breckinridge Hospital in Hyden as a cook in the cafeteria. She enjoyed gardening & fishing as her hobbies. She was a charter member of the Rockhouse Baptist Church at Hyden, KY. & also attended the Church of Deliverance in Lexington, KY. Laura Jones Morgan was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman & Hallie Woods Jones, her husband, Rufus "Jick" Morgan, one brother, Lester Jones & one granddaughter, Laura Lynn Murphy She leaves the following relatives surviving, two sons, Billy D. Morgan & Margie of Louisville, KY. & Jeff Morgan of Lexington, KY, one daugher, Ann Gullett & Joseph of Lexington, KY., one brother, Sherman Jones Jr. & Dean of Sellersburg, Indiana, three sisters, Georgia Osborne of Sizerock, Ky., Bessie Couch of Hyden, Ky. & Rowena Bauman & Marvin of London, Ky., one granddaughter, Julie Cubert & three great-grandchildren, Morgan Marie Cubert, Jarred David Cubert & Madison Cubert. Funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, Ky., with Rev. Jesse Baldridge officiating. Burial will follow in the Woods Cemetery at Thousandsticks, Ky. Visitation will be also on Wednesday beginning at 1:00 P.M. until time of funeral hour at 3:00 P.M.
