The Obituary of Mrs. Joann Burns Gay Officiating Ministers: Rev. Teddy Couch, Rev. Randy Couch and Rev. Jerry Rice Mrs. Joann Burns Gay was born on November 25, 1947 at Oneida, KY. and departed this life on March 9, 2011 at the St. Joseph Hospital in London, KY. She was 63 years of age at the time of her passing. She was the daughter of Myrtle Baker Burns of Oneida, KY. and the late Fred Burns. Joann was a very loving Mother & Grandmother. By occupation she was the Owner & Manager of Gay's Grocery in Sizerock, KY. She was a lifelong resident of Leslie County. She enjoyed cooking, camping, fishing, & most of all spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Father: Fred Burns. Mrs. Joann Burns Gay leaves the following relatives surviving: Mother: Myrtle Baker Burns of Oneida, KY.; Loving Husband of 45 years: Harvey Gay of Sizerock, KY.; Sons: Randall Gay & Sheila of Sizerock, KY. and Wendell Larry Gay & Natasha Boggs of Sizerock, KY.; Brothers: Freddie Wayne Burns of Corinth, KY., Larry Burns of Oneida, KY. and Darrell Burns & Debbie of Oneida, KY.; Very Special Friends: Cathy Sizemore & Kathy Henry; Grandchildren: Brandon Paul Harvey Gay & Breanna Selina Gay. Funeral services for Mrs. Joann Burns Gay will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday - March 12, 2011 at the Rockhouse Pentecostal Church in Hyden, KY. with Rev. Teddy Couch, Rev. Randy Couch and Rev. Jerry Rice officiating. Burial will follow the funeral services at the Lawrence & Bertha Gay Cemetery at Sizerock, KY. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Freddie Joe Burns, Jim Deaton, Johnny Gay, Kevin Gay, Bobby Jones and Eric Bowling.
