The Obituary of Evelyn York Begley Officiating Minister: Brother Larry Lewis Evelyn York Begley was born on October 10, 1942 in Cutshin, KY. and departed this life on June 14, 2012 at her residence at 30 Silver Lane ~ Smilax, KY at the age of 69 years. She was the Daughter of the late Luther Joseph and the late Sarah Day. By occupation Evelyn was a Caretaker for the Elderly as a Home Bound Nurse. She was a lifelong resident of Leslie County and was a Member of the Church of God in Christ Jesus - Beatty Branch Rd. ~ Smilax, KY. Evelyn enjoyed flowers, gardening, quilting, & most importantly being involved in the lives of her children & grandchildren. Evelyn was Preceded in Death by: Parents: Luther Joseph & Sarah Day Curry; Daughter: Sandra York; Sons: Step York and Darrell York; Father of Children: John York. She leaves the following relative surviving: Daughter: Mary York Goins & Cecil of Smilax, KY.; Brothers: Ernest Curry & Juanita of Harlan, KY. and Frank Curry & Leslie of London, KY.; Sister: Martha Sanders & Arnold of Harlan, KY.; Granddaughter: Brittany Gibson & D.J.; Great Granddaughter: Harley Gibson; Special Cousins & Caregivers: Sarah France and Zelda Gilbert. Funeral services for Evelyn York Begley will be conducted on Sunday ~ June 17, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home with Brother Larry Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the York Family Cemetery ~ Smilax, KY. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Jason Sanders, Brian Sanders, Andrew Reece, Ernie Curry, Matthew Curry, Josh Curry, Eli Sanders & D.J. Gibson.
