Mrs. Lola Begley Sizemore, 93, of Hyden, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 8, 2009 after a long illness. Lola was born February 3, 1916 at Shoal, Kentucky to the late John C. and Ida Begley. Lola married Thomas J. Sizemore in 1935 and made Leslie County her home. Lola worked at Keens Variety Store and served the people of Leslie County as a School Board Member for 16 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star Silver Bow Chapter. She was a faithful member of the Hurts Creek Church of Christ and enjoyed attending services with her church family. Lola was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Sizemore; one son, Jimmy Sizemore; five brothers, Herbert, Clifton, Bert, Earl & Ray; two sisters, Grace & Chloe. Survivors include: three daughters: Joanne Asmanes and Arthur of Knoxville, TN, Grace Quinones of Long Island, NY, Ida Evans and Robert of West Chester, PA and three sons: Thomas J. Sizemore, Jr. of Stinnett, Johnny Sizemore and Flo of Hyden, Onzie Sizemore and Angela of Roark, and daughter-in-law Mary Lou Sizemore. One sister survives, Mrs. Lillie Begley of Gayscreek, KY; 21 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and many friends also mourn her passing. Visitation will be Saturday, July 11, 2009 from 6:00 " 9:00 at the Walker Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be 1:00 Sunday, July 12, 2009 at the Hurts Creek Church of Christ with Mr. Mack Lewis and Mr. Keith Bowling officiating.
