The Obituary for Nina Joyce Lewis Gibson Nina Joyce Lewis Gibson, 60 of Mooresville, Indiana passed from this life to her heavenly home at 11:45 AM, October 2, 2013. She was born February 4, 1953 in Hyden, Kentucky at Mary Breckinridge Hospital to Pearl and Thelma (Helton) Lewis. Nina married David Joseph Gibson on December 15, 1973 in Dayton, Ohio at Dryden Road Pentecostal Church by Virgil Stone and Arvis Swafford. She worked along side her husband as Senior Pastors of Charity Church for 37 years, serving faithfully in many areas. She has been a mentor to countless women and young pastor's wives. She cherished and loved her grandchildren dearly. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Rev. David J. Gibson, her son, Justin (Ami) Gibson, her daughter, Nickia (Cecil) Payton, grandchildren, Brock and Brody Gibson, Hattie, Katie and GiGi Payton, her mother, Thelma Lewis, brother, Darrell(Sandy) Lewis, Patricia (Charles) Hoskins,and sister-in-law, Sheila Lewis and a host of brothers and sisters in law, neices, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and a host of friends that loved her very much.. She is preceded in death by her father, Pearl, grandson, Luke Michael Gibson,brother, Gary Wayne Lewis, maternal grandparents, Charlie and Sudie Helton, and paternal grandparents, Johnnie and Olie Lewis. To celebrate Nina's "Home Going" a funeral service will be held 7:00 PM, Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Charity Church, 2700 S. Tibbs Ave. Indianapolis, IN with visitation there from 2 PM. The burial will be private. The family request in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to the Charity Church in care of the Nina Gibson Memorial Fund.
