The Obituary of Mr. Wallace H. Maggard Officiating Minister: Rev. Ronnie Smith Mr. Wallace Maggard born September 25, 1931 departed this life on May 12, 2008 at the Mary Breckinridge Hospital, Hyden, Ky. He was 76 years, 7 months, & 17 days old. Wallace was born at Hyden, Ky., the son of the late Dan Maggard & Martha Asher Maggard. Wallace was a former furniture factory worker and was a Korean War Veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy. Wallace was affiliated with the Baptist Church & lived the majority of his adult life in Leslie Co., residing at 283 Owl's Nest Road, Hyden, Ky., at the time of his death. Mr. Wallace H. Maggard was preceded in death by his parents: Dan & Martha Asher Maggard, one sister: Margaret Ellen & one brother Arbert Alton. Mr. Wallace H. Maggard leaves the following relatives suriviving: one brother: John Maggard of Hyden, Ky., one sister: Betty Ruth Jackson of Manchester, Ky., five nieces:Theda Johnson, Lenora Sizemore & Martin, Margaret Jackson, Martha Ann Smith & Ronnie, Ava Deacon, Woody Jackson & Yevette, & Wallace Jackson & Faye, along with a host of other treasured relatives and friends. The funeral service for Mr. Wallace H. Maggard will be conducted at 12:00 Noon - Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Ronnie Smith officiating. The interment will follow at the Brewer Cemetery, Wooton, Ky., with full military rites observed by the Leslie Co. D.A.V. Chapter # 133, under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Staff.
