She passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at her residence,at 3720 Wolfe Creek Rd., Yeaddiss, KY. at the age of 80 years, 10 months & 27 days. Verda was a life-long resident of Leslie Co., she was a member of the Church of God in Christ Jesus at Cutshin, KY. She enjoyed sewing & working. Verda Adams Gross was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Fariston Gross, one grandson: Tim North,great-great grandson: Owen Bradley Baker, 4 brothers: Cova, Calfee, Coy & Lonnie Adams, 3 sisters: Gracie, Lela & Zilpha & a son-in-law: Allen North She leaves the following relatives surviving: 5 daughters: Imogene North of Yeaddiss, Ky., Maxine Baker of Hazard, Norma Bowling & Larry of Yeaddiss, Ky., Helen Smith & Hurlen of Yeaddiss, KY. & Margie Lewis & Larry of Yeaddiss, Ky., 1 son: Eugene Gross & Joyce of Wooton, KY., 1 step-son: Harold Wayne Gross & Norma of Stanford, Ky., 4 brothers:Don Adams & Stephanie of Hyden, KY., Willard Adams & Alpha of Hyden, KY., Ora Adams & Mary Helen of Hyden, KY. & Arthur Adams of Tennessee, 6 sisters: Shirley Callahan of Wooton, KY., Janice Griffith & Lloyd of Wooton, KY., Daisy North & Clay of Stinnett, Ky., Nancy Howard & Benny of Covington, KY., Jeanette Adams of California & Fern Chappell of Hyden, KY., 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great-grandchild, a special care-giver: Katie Morgan & a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends also survive. Funeral service will be on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Church of God in Christ Jesus at Cutshin, KY. with Larry Lewis & Willie Wagers officiating. The interment Imowill follow in the Fariston Gross family Cemetery at Yeaddiss, KY., the following will serve as pallbearers: Josh Baker, Thomas Baker, Mike Parker, Adam Woods & Adam Baker & honorary pallbearers: Terry North, Chad Bowling, Shannon Baker, Brian Gross & Wayne Gross.
