Billy Joe Lewis Jerry Kyle Hensley, Jr. was born on August 21, 1971 and departed this life on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at his residence, 249 Cemetery Road, Stinnett, Ky. Jerry was 39 years old at the time of his death. Jerry was born at Hyden, Ky., the son of Jerry Hensley, Sr. & Vicki J. Roberts. Jerry was employed as a traffic manager in the commercial trucking industry. He was a veteran of U.S. Army & served honorably. He completed his basic training at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina at the Defense Academy for Credibility Assessment & Drill Sgt. School. Jerry also served at Fort Lee in Petersburg, Virginia--the headquarters to the U.S. Army Combined Arms Support Command. Jerry enjoyed playing music & all sports, especially football. He was a member of the Leslie Co. High School 1990 boys' basketball team. This team is the only boy's team to win the 14th regional championship. They advanced to the quarter-finals of the 1990 boys' state tournament. Jerry was a life-long resident of Leslie Co., residing at 249 Cemetery Road, Stinnett, Ky. at the time of his death. Jerry was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Henry & Josephine Roberts & paternal grandparents: Astor & Bessie Hensley. Mr. Jerry Kyle Hensley, Jr. leaves the following relatives surviving: father: Jerry Hensley, Sr.& wife, Patricia, Mother: Vicki J. Roberts Couch & husband, Doug, of London, Ky.; his beloved wife: Nina Stidham Hensley of Stinnett, Ky.; one daughter, Kylie Brianna Hensley of Stinnett, Ky.; & a host of treasured aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. The funeral service for Mr. Jerry Kyle Hensley, Jr. will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. - Monday- December 27, 2010 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Chapel, Hyden, Ky., with Rev. Ronnie Melton & Rev. Billy Joe Lewis officiating. Friends may call for visitation at 6:00 p.m. Sunday - December 26, 2010 at the funeral home chapel. The interment will take place in the Roberts Family Cemetery located at Stinnett, Ky. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Carson Whitehead Jr.,Alex Stidham, Gordon Asher,Kent Asker, Scott Dixon.
