The Obituary for Leonard Hensley Officiating Minister: Donnie Melton Leonard Hensley was born on January 11, 1937, passed away on September 3, 2009 at his residence at 158 Grace Mountain Rd., Hyden, Ky. at the age 72 years, 7 months & 23 days. Leonard was born at Hyden, Ky., the son of the late Delmon Hensley & Nettie Bowling Hensley. Leonard was a life-long resident of Leslie Co. By occupation he was a retired coal miner. Leonard was affiliated with the Church of Christ. He enjoyed Carpentry, Guns & restoring old vehicles. Leonard Hensley was preceded in death by: his parents, his wife: Nora Rose Harmon Hensley, 1 brother: John C.Hensley & 1 sister: June Melton. He leaves the following relatives surviving: 5 sons: Tommy Hensley of Hyden, KY., Tim Hensley & Judy of Wooton, KY., Charles Lewis & Polly of Yeaddiss, Ky., Roger Hensley & Nola of Hyden, KY. & Arvile (Rex) Hensley & Cindy of Wooton, KY., 3 daughters: Jan Turner & Scottie of Covington, Ky., Eliza Carrasco of Hyden, Ky & Karen Fouts & Willis of Wooton, Ky. 1 brother: Rex Hensley & Ruth of Wooton, KY. & 5 Sisters: Pearl Lewis of Hyden, KY., Bertie Luv of Bristol, Va., Blanche Lewis of Hyden, KY., Geraldine Miniard of Tenn. & Lillie Oliver & Earl of Ky.,10 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren. Also a host of other relatives & friends survive. Funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, Ky. with Donnie Melton officiating. Burial will follow in the Hensley-Joseph Family Cemetery at (Hensley's Branch), Coon Creek, KY. The following will serve as pallbearers: Joshua Hensley, Aaron Hensley, Skip Lewis, Keith Lewis, Jeremy Lewis & Mike Goforth.
