Rose Hacker Mattingly

Mrs. Rose Hacker Mattingly was born on February 1, 1912 at Stinnett, KY., the daughter of the late Jack & Luanna Smith Hacker. Rose passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2012 at the Hyden Health & Rehab Center at Hyden, Ky., at the age of 100 years, 6 months & 21 days. Rose was a life-long resident of Leslie Co. She was a homemaker. She was a member of The Stinnett Gap Church of God at Stinnett, Ky. & also a member of the Hyden Church of God at Hyden, Ky. Rose had been a devoted church member for the past 87 years, She enjoyed going to church & gardening as her hobbies. Rose Hacker Mattingly was preceded in death by her parents: Jack & Luanna Smith Hacker, her 1st husband: Bige Hoskins, her 2nd husband: William Ramsey Mattingly, 1 son: Warren Hoskins, 3 step-sons: William Doan Mattingly, Bernard Mattingly & Woodrow Mattingly, 1 step-daughter: Juanita Cappes, daughter-in-law: Annette Hoskins, 2 grand-daughters: Crystal Renee Hoskins & Doris Morgan, one great-grandson: Joey, 3 brothers: Riley, Charles & Henry & 3 sisters: Elsa, Nellie & Edith She leaves the following relatives surviving: 3 sons: Vernon Hoskins & Reba of Stinnett, KY., Carlos Hoskins of London, Ky. & Ronald Mattingly & Kathy of Hyden, Ky., 1 step-son: Tinsley Mattingly of Hyden, Ky., 1 daughter: Mildred Mattingly Slone of Hyden, Ky., 1 brother: Carl Hacker & Carolyn of Stinnett, KY. Two special friends: Rosalee Hoskins & Eva Morgan. Also a host of treasured grandchildren, great-grandchildren great-great-grandchildren & other relatives & friends survive & all her spiritual church family at the Hyden and Stinnett Church of God. Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, Hyden, KY., with Pastor Wayne Bowling, Rev. Justin Collett & Eugene "Friday" Roberts officiating. The interment will follow at the Morgan-Begley Cemetery at Hyden, Ky.
