Ray Wilson Bertha Morgan Spurlock was born on June 26, 1923 in Leslie Co., Kentucky the daughter of the late Finley & Mae Feltner Farley. Bertha passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2009 in Scottsville, Ky. at the age of 86 years, 5 months & 7 days. Bertha was a life-long resident of Leslie Co. with the exception of living in Scottsville, Kentucky for the past 8 years. By occupation she was a retired cook for the Leslie Co. School System. Bertha was a member of the Rockhouse Baptist Church in Hyden, KY. and also a member of the White Plains Baptist Church in Scottsville, Ky. Her hobbies included reading her bible & quilting. Bertha Morgan Spurlock was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband & father of her children: Leon Morgan, her second husband: Jasper Spurlock & 2 brothers Bertha leaves the following relatives surviving: 1 son: Danny Morgan of Scottsville, Ky., 1 daughter: Sue Morgan Begley & James of Lebanon, Tennessee,1 brother: Forest Farley of London, KY., 1 sister: Laura Harmon of Cincinnati, Ohio, 4 grandchildren: Deana Douglas & Todd, Jamie Begley & Jackie, Hobert Leon Morgan & Brandy & Misty Morgan & 5 great-grandchildren: Ally, Avery, Isabelle, Bailey & Addison. Funeral Service for Bertha Morgan Spurlock will be conducted on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, Hyden, Ky., with Rev. Ray Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the BearHollow Cemetery at (Rockhouse Creek), Hyden, Ky. The following serve as pallbearers: Hobert Morgan, Jamie Begley, Glenn Mosley, Billy Morgan, Todd Douglas and Mack Bentley.
