She was a member of the Wooton Church of Christ, Wooton, Ky. Verna Mae had been a resident of Leslie Co., for 50 years of her life & had lived in South Carolina. Verna Mae was living in Hyden, Ky. at the time of her death. She enjoyed canning & quilting as hobbies. Mrs. Verna Mae Wells Thomas was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Thomas, two sons: Lowell & Burl Thomas, & brothers: Grant, Beecher, Burl & sisters. Mrs. Verna Mae Wells Thomas leaves the following relatives surviving: three sons: Leonard Thomas of Georgia, David Thomas & wife, Amanda of Fleming Neon, Ky., Larry Thomas & wife, Carla of Ruby, South Carolina, one daughter: Patricia Allen of Crestview, Florida, one daughter-in-law: Maudie Thomas of Wooton, Ky.,one brother: J.L. Wells of Florida, one sister: Lillian Wells of Louisville, Ky., 10 Grandchildren, a host of Great-Grandchildren, other treasured relatives and friends.
