The obituary of Mr. Franklin D. Woods Officiating Minister: Rev. Logan Wayne Bowling Mr. Franklin D. Woods born on April 27, 1934 departed this life on April 28, 2008 at the age of 74 years, 0 months and 1 day old. He was born at Hyden, Kentucky the son of the late virgil Woods and the late Flara Begley Woods. By occupation he was a tree trimmer and was employed by the electric company. Franklin was a life-long resident of Leslie County, Kentucky with the exception of having lived in Ohio, Indiana and Florida for short periods of time. Some of his hobbies he enjoyed included boxing, nascar and other car racing. Franklin was preceded in death by his parents Virgil & Flara Woods; one brother: Donald; and one son: Mike Woods. He leaves surviving the following relatives: Wife: Verna Begley Woods of Hyden, KY., Son: Delbert Woods & Judy of Hyden, KY., Two Daughters: Mary Evelyn Roberts of Indiana, Melissa Woods of Stanton, KY., Two Brothers: Arnold Woods of Monticell, KY., Ricky Woods of Hyden, KY., Two Sisters: Betty Scott of London, KY., Faye Gross of Hyden, KY., Seven Grandchildren: Robert, Marsha, Missy, Danny Wayne, Michael, Jimmy Wayne & Mike Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Franklin D. Woods will be held at 2:00 p.m. -Thursday - May 1, 2008 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Logan Wayne Bowling officiating. Burial will follow in the Woods Cemetery located at Hyden (Heel-For-Certain), Kentucky under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Staff.
