The Obituary of Mrs. Lula Howard Officiating Minister: Keith Bowling Mrs. Lula Howard was born on August 3, 1927 in Wendover, KY. and passed away on Thursday ~ December 27, 2012 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center in Hazard, KY. She was 85 years of age at the time of her passing. Lula was the Daughter of the late Sherman Farler and the late Ida Adams and was the Widow of James "Shorty" Howard. By occupation she was a Homemaker and a FNS employee working in the Kitchen & Maintenance. Lula was a lifelong resident of Leslie County and was a member of the Hurts Creek Church of Christ. Lula enjoyed quilting, puzzles and flower gardening. She was Preceded in Death by her: Loving & Devoted Husband: James "Shorty" Howard; Parents: Sherman Farler and Ida Adams Farler; Brothers: Charlie, Tommy and Benny Farler; Sisters: Viola Howard, Cassie Howard and Susan Adams; Granddaughter: Vanessa Adams; Grandson: James Douglas Adams; Daughter-In-Law: Carolyn Howard. She leaves the following relatives surviving: Daughter: Ellen Adams & Van of Tyner, KY. and Son: David Howard of Hyden, KY.; Sister: Mary Howard of Hyden, KY.; Grandchildren: Julie, Alicia, Amy, Brian, Wendy and Leann; 10 Great Grandchildren also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Lula Howard will be conducted on Sunday ~ Dec. 30, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home with Keith Bowling officiating. Burial will follow in the Singleton Cemetery ~ Wendover, KY. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Van Adams, Aaron Hensley, Robert Wells, James Adams, Paul Howard and Roy Farler.
