The obituary of Mr. Robert Williams. Officiating minister: Rev. Don Kilburn. Mr. Robert Williams was born on January 20, 1925 and departed this life on January 11, 2009 when he was 83 years old. He was a life-long resident of Leslie County, and was the son of the late Lillie Williams and the late Mary Blevins. By occupation, he was a retired miner and logger. Some of his hobbies included collecting guns and knives, as well as going to the flea markets. Mr. Robert Williams was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Laura Williams; one brother: Bige; six sisters: Ethel, Liza, Polly, Cussie, Arlena, and AlaTair. He leaves surviving the following relatives: one son: James Burley Williams & Stella of Pineville, KY; one brother: Foster Williams of Johnson City, TN; four sisters: Callie Creech of St. Clair, MI, Ava Witt of Bledsoe, KY, Nancy Collett & Jay of Cumberland, KY, and Ona Curry & Bill of Brookside, KY; one grandson: James Williams & Laura of Pineville, KY; two great-grandchildren: Alex and Christopher Williams; special friends: Rev. Don Kilburn & Rose. Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Robert L. Williams will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Dwayne Walker Funeral Home. Visitation will begin on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place following the ceremony at the Robert Lewis Cemetery on Big Rock Rd. in Yeaddiss, KY under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home staff.
