The obituary of Mrs. Claretta Ann Begley Maggard. Officiating ministers: Rev. Wayne Bowling and Rev. Billy Joe Lewis. Mrs. Claretta Ann Maggard was born on May 2, 1951 and departed this life on June 25, 2009 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center, Hazard, Ky. She was 58 years, 1 month, and 23 days old. Claretta was the daughter of Everett Begley and the late Norma Jean Lewis. She was a life-long resident of Leslie County at the time of her death. By occupation she was a employee of the Mary Breckinridge Hospital for 14 years, having worked in the housekeeping department. Some of her hobbies included attending the Hyden Church of God, antique shopping, flower gardening, going to the lake, boat riding & most of all being involved in the lives of her sons, granddaughter, & great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her mother, and one grandson: Derek Scott Hacker. She leaves surviving the following relatives: father: Everett Begley & step-mother Lois Feltner Begley of Hyden; husband: Gary Maggard of Wooton; two sons: Jeffrey Alan Hacker of Wooton, KY and Brian Scott Hacker of Wooton, KY; one grandchild: Jaquelyn Nichole Hacker; one great-grandchild: Alexis Nicole Johnson & one step-brother, Arville Dwayne Feltner. Also survived by a host of other treasured relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Claretta Ann Begley Maggard will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2009 at the Hyden Church of God with Rev. Wayne Bowling & Rev. Billy Joe Lewis officiating. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at the funeral home. The interment will take place at the Begley-Woods Cemetery in Dryhill, KY following the service. Pallbearers for Mrs. Claretta Maggard will include Terry Hensley, Terry Hensley, Jr., Jamie Melton, Danny Cox, Darrell Fouts, James Priest, Wayne Johnson, Dwayne Couch and Willie Edward.
