Warren O'Shaughnessy Farmer Roark was born on December 1, 1914 at (Jack's Creek), Roark, Ky., the son of the late Bob Roark & Nancy Napier Roark. Farmer passed away on Friday, September 18, 2009 at the Mary Breckinridge Hospital in Hyden, Ky. at the age of 94 years, 9 months & 17 days. He was a life-long resident of Leslie Co. By occupation Farmer was a retired logger & coal miner. He was a member of the New Hope Community Church at Warbranch, Ky. Farmer enjoyed farming, working with horses, hogs, cattle & chickens & gardening. Farmer Roark was preceded in death by his parents, son: Willie Roark, grandson: Farmer Dwayne Roark, Infant Grand-daughter: Velma Dean Roark, brothers: Jesse Roark, Gabbard Roark & Gracie, John Roark, & sisters: Paralee & Fred Collett, Lucy Roark, & Della Roark. He leaves the following relatives surviving: his wife whom he married July 27, 1948: Velma Brock Roark of Warbranch, Ky., sons: Donald Roark & Carol of Warbranch, Ky., Lonnie Roark & Bobbie of Warbranch, KY. & Wayne Roark & Jenny of London, Ky., daughter: Yvonne Brock & Levi of Louisville, Ky.sister-in-law: Sadie Roark of Somerset, KY., grandchildren: Stanley Roark, Lonnie C. Brock & Levi Brock, Jr., Vonda Brock, Tisha Jackson, Jenna Shanks, Doshie Hubbard, Ashley Roberts & Tracy Wilson, great grandchildren; Candis Ashcraft, Andrew Ashcraft, Jacob Sneed, Devyn Brock, Ceaira Brock, Dalton Brock, Blake Hubbard, Carson Hubbard, Abigail Jackson, Jason Jackson, Ada Lee Jackson, step- grandchildren: Robert, Earl, Jason, Jeniffer, Kenneth & Lisa, also a host of other Step-Grandchildren and Step-Great Grandchildren and other relatives & friends survive. Funeral service for Farmer Roark will be conducted on Monday, September 21, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the New Hope Community Church at Warbranch, Ky., with Rev. Denver Brock, Rev. Ralph Brown, Rev. Teddy Collett & Rev. Roy Napier officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Rye Cove Cemetery at Warbranch, Ky. The following serve as pallbearers: Curtis Brock, Dustin Bowling, Billy Mac Napier, Stanley Roark, Gary Simpson, Jesse Collett, Bobby Joe Hubbard and Cornelius Roark.
