The obituary of Mrs. Carolyn L. Smith Officiating Ministers: Rev. Rufus Slusher, Rev. Eugne Roberts and Rev. Denver Brock Mrs. Carolyn Lorraine Smith born August 3, 1936 departed this life on May 8, 2010 at the age of 73 years. She was born at Helton, Kentucky the daughter of Lawrence Nantz and Rose Wilson Nantz. By occupation Carolyn was a homemaker and had also been a former secretary having been employed by Mary Breckinridge Hospital. She enjoyed playing music, singing, planting flowers, going to church, family gatherings at holidays, bird watching, pets, cooking and decorating. Carolyn was a member of the Lower Middlefork Pentecostal Church and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. Mrs. Carolyn L. Smith was preceded in death by her parents: Lawrence and Rose Nantz, one daughter: Sandra Rose; one son: James Glenn Smith, daughter-in-law: Wanda Sue Smith, two brothers and two sisters. She leaves surviving the following relatives, husband: Riley Smith of Helton, Ky, two sons: Ernest Smith of Helton, KY, Larry Smith & Debbie of Asher, KY, one daughter: Sherri Smith of Helton, KY , one daughter-in-law: Jan Smith,two brothers: John Nantz & Norma of Berea, KY, Bruce Nantz & Bonnie of West Virginia, three sisters: Evelyn Schwartz of Colorado, Ruby Bates of Mt. Vernon, OH, Joann Ketner & Dave of Mt. Vernon, OH, five grandchildren: Michael Joshua Smith, Covey Daniel Smith, Keisha Makayla Smith, Glynis Thompson and Richie Thompson, also survived by three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Carolyn Lorraine Smith will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday - May 12, 2010 at the Lower Middlefork Pentecostal Church at Asher, KY with Rev. Rufus Slusher, Rev. Eugene Roberts and Rev. Denver Brock officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery located at Helton, KY. Friends may call for visitation at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday - May 11, 2010 at the church.
