The obituary of Mr. Herman Rice Officiating Ministers Rev. Robert Lee Rice & Rev. Paul Jr. Jones Mr. Herman Rice born January 16, 1934 departed this life on August 28, 2010 at the age of 76 years. He was born at Hyden, Kentucky the son of the late Granville Rice and the late Armilda Spurlock Rice. He was affiliated with the Mt. Paran Baptist Church, Saul, Ky.,and enjoyed listening to music. Herman had been a life-long resident of Leslie County with the exception of having lived in Indiana for 17 years. Mr. Herman Rice was preceded in death by his parents: Granville and Armilda Rice; four sisters: Euna Mae Burns, Rose Young, Ollie Barger, Hannah Sue Jones; three brothers: Curtis Rice, Simon Rice and William Rice. He leaves surviving the following relatives:five brothers: Clifton Rice of Scottsburg, IN, Ernest Rice of Austin, IN, Paul Rice of Austin, IN, L.C. Rice of Saul. KY and Robertson Rice of Austin, IN One nephew & two nieces whom were raised as brothers and sisters with Herman, nephew: Cile Bowling of Austin, In, two nieces: Mildred Pearl Gibson of Louisville, KY and Ollie Logsdon of Florida. Mr. Herman Rice is also survived by a host of other nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Herman Rice will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday - August 31, 2010 at the Mt. Paran Baptist Church located at Saul, Kentucky, with Rev. Robert Lee Rice and Rev. Paul Jr. Jones officiating. The interment will follow in the Granville Rice Cemetery located at Saul, Kentucky. Friends may call for visitation after 6:00 p.m. Monday - August 30, 2010 at the church.
