The Obituary of Mr. Leonard Lewis "Babe" Blevins Officiating Ministers: Rev. Logan Wayne Bowling & Rev. Bobby Wayne Couch Mr. Leonard Lewis "Babe" Blevins was born on November 30, 1932 at Letcher Co., KY. and passed away on October 14, 2010 at the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center in Hazard, KY. He was 77 years, 10 months and 14 days of age at the time of his passing. He was the son of the late John Blevins and the late Bonnie Faye Hill Blevins. By occupation he was a OPW Factory Employee in Cincinnati, OH. and retired from Shamrock Coal Co. He also honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corp. He had been a resident of Leslie County for 35 years. He was a member of Hyden Church of God and enjoyed knife and gun trading and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Leonard Lewis "Babe" Blevins was preceded in death by his parents; Sister: Lori Davis; Brothers: Johnny Eugene Blevins, Arlie Winchester and Dester Winchester. He leaves the following relatives surviving: Wife: Audrey Bowling Blevins of Hyden, KY.; Son: Leonard "Lenny" Lewis Blevins II of Hyden, KY.; Step Son: Logan Wayne Bowling & Barbara of Hyden, KY. Daughters: Lana Denise Roberts & Charles of Oneida, KY. and Elizabeth Cummins of St. Charles, IL.; Grandchildren: Wayne Edward Bowling & Billie Sue, Leah Mosley & Chris, Dustin Bowling, Robyn Blevins, Katherine Greenberg, Alex Cummins, Christopher Cummins, Jordan Keith Lynn Blevins and Matthew Logan Blevins; Great Grandchildren: Haley Ralene Bowling, Logan Chase Bowling, William Rice, Ezra Greenburg, Rivka Greenburg, Pepper Cummins and Drew Edison Bowling. Funeral services for Mr. Leonard Lewis "Babe" Blevins will be conducted on Sunday - October 17, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hyden Church of God with Rev. Logan Wayne Bowling and Rev. Bobby Wayne Couch officiating. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Jordan Blevins, Matthew Blevins, Johnny Blevins, Jim Blevins, Dustin Bowling, Wayne Ed Bowling and Joey Brock. Burial will follow the funeral service at the Couch's Fork Cemetery at Bearbranch, KY. with Full Military Rites observed by the Leslie Co. DAV Chapter 133. Visitation will be held on Saturday - October 16, 2010 beginning at 6:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel and Sunday - October 17, 2010 after 11:00 A.M. at the church.
