The Obituary for Dan Holland Officiating Ministers Rev. Dan Griffiths, Rev. James Bowling, Jr.& Rev. Chuck Jack Dan Holland was born on December 6, 1935 in Hyden, Kentucky, the son of the late Haywood & Eliza Polly Holland. Dan passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center, in Hazard, Ky. at the age of 74 years, 3 months & 4 days. He had been a resident of Essie, Ky. for the past 31 years, coming from Indiana. By occupation Dan was a Retired employee for the Peerless Co.in Louisville, KY., producing gas furnaces also a former CSX Railroad employee in Arkana, Ohio. Dan was a member of the Lower Bowens Creek United Methodist Church at Essie, Ky. He enjoyed gardening. Dan Holland was preceded in death by his Parents & One Brother: Woodrow Holland He leaves the following relatives surviving:Two Daughters: Debbie Smith & J.of Indiana & Donna Bowe & Paul of Indiana, Mother of Children: Fannie "Cookie" Bowling, Three Brothers: Eugene Holland & Doris of Essie, Ky., Winfred Holland & Noreda of Dayton, Ohio & Glen Holland & Bernice of Dayton, Ohio, Two Sisters: Frances Sizemore & Elmer of Indiana & Hattie Marcum & Tom of Dayton, Ohio Two Grandsons: Dakota & Corey & also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive. Funeral service for Dan Holland will be conducted on Friday, March 12, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Lower Bowens Creek United Methodist Church at Essie, Ky., with Rev. Dan Griffiths, Rev. James Bowling, Jr. & Rev. Chuck Jack officiating. Burial will follow in the Holland Family Cemetery at Essie, Ky. The following will serve as pallbearers: Nathaniel Taylor, Mark Rose, Jeff Holland, Daniel Taylor, Kevin Collett, Paul Holland & Austin Barrett.
