William "Bill" L. Conway

The obituary of Mr. William "Bill" L. Conway Officiating Minister: Rev. Roger Wolfe Mr. William "Bill" L. Conway born January 22, 1934 departed this life on January 7, 2010 in Asheboro, NC at the age of 75 years. He was born at St.Paul, Missouri the son of the late Marvin L. "Buck" Conway and the late Dorothy Callahan Conway. Bill graduated from Esther High School in 1951. He attended Flat River JR College for two years. In 1953 he enlisted into the U.S. Army, retiring in 1973 with 20 years of service with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. Upon his retirement from the military he and his devoted wife Tabitha moved to Springfield, MO. where he owned & operated a shoe store. In 1987 he & Tabatha made Hyden, KY. their home. Bill worked as Newspaper Editor for the Leslie County News for 13 years. He enjoyed fishing and watching Nascar Racing as hobbies. His plan was to move to Asheboro, NC. to be near his daughter at the time of his death. He was preceded in death by his parents: Marvin and Dorothy Conway, his loving and devoted wife of 50 years: Tabatha Conway. Bill leaves surviving one daughter: Summer R. Poupore and her husband David of Franklinville, NC.; one brother: Robert G. Conway of Roy, UT. He also leaves surviving a host of other treasured relatives and friends. Funeral arrangements for Mr. William L. "Bill" Conway will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Wolfe officiating. Visitation will begin Saturday, January 9, 2010 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Camp Nelson Cemetery in Nicholasville, KY., on Monday, January 11,2009 at 1:30 P.M.
