He departed this life on June 9, 2008 at the age of 30 years, 8 months, and 1 day. He was born in Hyden, Kentucky, the son of Darrell and Jessie "Chloe" Collett. He had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding four-wheelers, and auto mechanics. Mr. Rex Allen Collett was affiliated with the Bowen's Creek Baptist Church. He leaves surviving the following relatives: his parents: Darrell & Jessie Collett of Essie, KY; one brother: Hargis Collett of Asher, KY; three sisters: Joann Feltner & Aaron of Wooton, KY, Lucy Roark & Lance of Barbourville, KY, and Bessie Gail Collet & Danny Bond of Flat Lick, KY. Six nephews: Jesse Brock, Travis Roark, James Brock, Michael Brock, Dillon Brock, & Daniel Bond; two nieces: Brianna Bond & Janie Feltner; also one special cousin: Kenny Collett. Also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Rex Allen Collett will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday June 12, 2008 at the Bowen's Creek United Baptist Church at Essie, Kentucky with Rev. Leroy Blackburn, Rev. Taylor Adams, Rev. Teddy Collett, and Rev. Mike Blair officiating. Visitation will take place at the church and will begin at 1 p.m. for the family, and 2 p.m. for the public. Burial will take place at the Collett Family Cemetery in Essie, Kentucky under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home staff. The nephews: Jesse Brock, James Brock, Michael Brock, Dillon Roark; uncle: William Collett; cousin: Kenny Collett; & brother: Hargis Collett will serve as pallbearers.
