The Obituary for Martha Marie Mattingly Baker. Officiating Minister: Steve Springer Martha Marie Mattingly Baker was born on November 22, 1932 and departed this life on September 29, 2009 at the Mary Breckenridge Hospital in Hyden, KY. She was 76 years, 10 months and 7 days old. Marie was the daughter of the late Talmage Mattingly and the late Martha Spurlock. She was a life long resident of Leslie County. By occupation Marie was the Administration Assistant of the Leslie County Sheriff's Office. She was a member of Muncy's Creek Baptist Church and she enjoyed cooking. Martha Marie Mattingly Baker was preceded in death by her parents; two sons: Johnny Ray and Jimmy Baker; two brothers: John and Carl Mattingly; and two sisters: Norma Mattingly and Judy Dixon. She leaves the following relatives surviving: father of children: Edgar Matt Baker of Hyden, KY.; one son: Randy Baker of Hyden, KY.; one sister: Verna Wilson of Corbin, KY.; four grandchildren: Ashleigh Nicole Baker, Andrea Reagan Baker, Jordan Lee Baker and Melissa Ann Tackett; and six great-grandchildren: Fallyn Howard, Hagan Howard, Landan Howard, Rayleigh Howard, Mallie Tackett and Addy Ray Tackett. Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Marie Mattingly Baker will be conducted at 2:00 p.m - Saturday - October 3, 2009 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Springer officiating. Burial will follow in the Morgan-Begley Cemetery located at Hyden, KY. The following served as pallbearers: Ricky Dixon, James Pence, Larry Sizemore, Steve Davidson and Kevin Guier.
