She passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center in Hazard, Ky. at the age of 67 years, 5 months & 30 days. Mary was a life-long resident of Leslie Co. By occupation she was owner & manager of the Golden Comb Salon in Hazard, KY. Mary was a member of the Smilax Church of Christ at Smilax, Ky. She enjoyed spending time with her children & grandchildren & playing bingo. Mary Day Dixon was preceded in death by her parents: Rollie & Ophia Maggard Day, infant daughter: Joy Heather Dixon, sister: Margie Day Gay & brother: Chrisley Day. She leaves the following relatives surviving: her husband of 43 years: Billy Joe Dixon of Smilax, Ky., sons: Joey Brian Dixon & Susie of Smilax, Ky. & Robbie Anthony Dixon of Smilax, Ky., daughter: Tishia Dixon & Johnny Wayne Couch of Hyden, KY. grandchildren: Lindsay Couch, Tyler Dixon & Hunter Couch, sister-in-laws: Joyce Day, Laura Clark & Pam Cornett, special friends: Deb Davis, Elaine Couch & Doris Stacy. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive. Funeral service will be on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, KY., with Danny Day, Harold Turner & Paul Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Day Family Cemetery at (Polls Creek Rd.), Smilax, Ky. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 6:00 P.M. at the funeral home chapel.
