Ray Wilson Lilbern Woods, Jr. was born on October 5, 1928 at (Hell-For-Certain), Kaliopi, Ky., the son of the late Lilbern Woods & Sophia Begley Woods. Jr. passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at the Mary Breckinridge Hospital, Hyden, KY.at the age of 81 years, 1 month & 3 days. Lilbern Woods, Jr. was a life-long resident of Leslie Co., by occupation he was a retired self-employed carpenter, former deputy sheriff & jailer for the Leslie Co. Fiscal Court. He was also a veteran of the U.S.Army. Jr. enjoyed reading his bible & carpentry work. He was a member of the Rockhouse Baptist Church, Hyden, KY. Lilbern Woods, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons: Roger Dean Woods & Roy Allen Woods, 1 daughter: Noreen Francis Woods, 1 brother: Isaac Woods 1 sister: Francis Woods He leaves the following relatives surviving: wife: Billie Woods of Hyden, Ky., 1 son: Marvin Woods & wife Gena R.K. Woods, of Ossego, Michigan, 2 brothers: Charles David Woods of Arkansas & Alexander Woods of Indiana, 3 sisters: Delana Bills of Indiana, Martha Kemp of Indiana & Betty Jean Renaker of Indiana & 1 Grand-daughter: Keeley Jeane Woods of Michigan. Also a host of other relatives & friends survive. Funeral service for Lilbern Woods, Jr.will be conducted on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, Hyden, KY., with Rev. Ray Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Woods Cemetery (Hell-Fer-Certain), Hyden, Ky. Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 6:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel.
