Verena Sizemore Asher was born on March 15, 1952 in Hyden, KY. and passed away on January 7, 2013 at her residence at 114 Frankfort School Rd. ~ Corbin, KY. She was 60 years of age at the time of her passing. Verena was the Daughter of the late Lincoln Sizemore and the late Sally Ann Collins Sizemore and was the wife of Marshall Asher. By occupation she was a homemaker and a minister. Verena was a former resident of Leslie County and Clay County and had lived in Corbin, KY. for the past 1.5 years. She was a Member of the Shady Grove Church of God. Verena enjoyed sewing, flower gardening and most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children & grandchildren. She was Preceded in Death by her: Parents: Lincoln & Sally Ann Collins Sizemore; Brothers: Harrell and Darrell. Verena leaves the following relatives surviving: Loving & Devoted Husband: Marshall Asher of Corbin, KY.; Son: Anthony Asher of Corbin, KY.; Daughters: Jennifer Irene Mitchell & Lonnie of Manchester, KY. and Elizabeth Ann West & Jeffery of Manchester, KY.; Brothers: David Sizemore & Jane of FL., Eli John Sizemore of Manchester, KY. and Dusty Sizemore & Gracie of Manchester, KY.; Sisters: Margaret Ruth Couch of OH., Rosa Lee Barger of Hyden, KY. and Martha Sue Leonard & Donald of London, KY.; Grandchildren: Sonya Renee Asher, Philip Joe Mitchell, Faith Irena Mitchell and Marshall Wayne West; Step-Grandson: Tyler Anthony Felts. Funeral services for Rev. Verena Sizemore Asher will be conducted on Thursday ~ January 10, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at the Parkway Holiness Church ~ Thousandsticks, KY. with Bro. Charles Robinson, Bro. Basil Holdder, Bro. Daniel Mason and Bro. Herbert Bush officiating. Burial will follow in the Asher~Jones Cemetery in Hyden, KY.
