Zilpha H. Asher

Mrs. Zilpha H. Asher, 91, of Hyden, KY., the wife of Forester Asher, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Mary Breckinridge ARH Hospital in Hyden, KY. She was born on March 25, 1922 in Hyden, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Jackie Howard and the late Sarah Jane Sizemore. By occupation Zilpha was a homemaker and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and especially being involved in the lives of her daughter and grandchildren. Zilpha was a member of the Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her parents: Jackie & Sarah Jane, one daughter: Taronda Kaye, brothers: Estill, Will, Joe, Monroe, Raleigh & James Howard, sisters: Susie Brown and Armilda Johnson. Zilpha leaves surviving the following relatives: her loving and devoted husband of 66 years: Forester, daughter: Carol Josephine Asher Fields and Charlie of Hyden, KY, grandchild: Terry Joe Fields & Bobbi Jo of Hyden, KY, great grandchildren: Asia Fields, Hannah Sizemore and Jordan Barger, six great great grandchildren. Also survived by one special nephew: Mickey R. Howard and two special nieces: Evelyn Crawford and Jaynie Ogelsby.
