The Obituary of Rev. Fred Collett Officiating Ministers: Rev. Everett Eads, Rev. Harold Eads, Rev. John Pugh and Rev. Ronnie Opplinger Rev. Fred Collett was born on June 1, 1917 and departed this life on June 22, 2010 at his residence, 3617 Highway # 406, Essie, KY. He was 93 years of age at the time of his passing. He was the son of the late Arthur Collett and the late Francie Morgan. Fred was the founder & minister of the Grassy Branch Pentecostal Church for 68 years and was appointed Bishop in 2005 at the Red Bird Pentecostal Holiness Church at Roark, KY. Fred was very faithful & devoted to his church & community. Fred also was a former coal miner, logger, & saw-mill employee. Fred was a life-long resident of Leslie County. Fred enjoyed rabbit hunting, squirrel hunting, & gardening as hobbies. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Manuel, Clarence, Corbit & Troy, children: Delora, Sill, Lillie, Jane and Pearl; sisters: Betty Morgan and Elva Fee; great grandchild: Missy Leigh Wright. Rev. Fred Collett leaves the following relatives surviving: his loving and devoted wife: Etta Mae Cress Collett of Essie, KY.; sons: Randy Collett & Tina of Stinnett, KY. and Dennis Feltner & Joan of Essie, KY.; daughters: Maxine Lewis & James of Crothersville, IN., Mildred Johnson & David of Seymour, IN., Barbara Doan & Ron of Berea, KY. and Donna Morgan of Berea, KY.; fifteen grandchildren; twenty six great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren. The funeral service for Rev. Fred Collett will be conducted on Friday - June 25, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Grassy Branch Pentecostal Church at Essie, KY. with Rev. Everett Eads, Rev. Harold Eads, Rev. John Pugh and Rev. Ronnie Opplinger officiating. The interment will follow the service at the Albert Morgan Cemetery at Essie, KY. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Zachary Smith, Robert Smith, Darrin Feltner, Wayne Maupin, Scott Morgan, Marty Morgan, Lonnie Fee and Brandon Wright.
