The Obituary of Mr. John Herman Maggard Officiating Ministers: Rev. Ronnie Smith & Mac Whitaker Mr. John Maggard was born on January 15, 1933 in Hyden, KY. and passed away on Sunday ~ December 18, 2011 at the Hyden Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was 78 years of age at the time of his passing. John was the Son of the late Dan Maggard and the late Martha Asher Maggard. By occupation John was a Factory Worker and served honorably in the U.S. Navy. He was a resident of Leslie County since 1980, coming from Louisville, KY. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and fishing as hobbies. He was Preceded in Death by: Parents: Dan & Martha Asher Maggard; Infants: Margaret Ellen & Albert Allen; Brother: Wallace Maggard. Mr. John Herman Maggard leaves the following relatives surviving: Sister: Betty Ruth Jackson of Manchester, KY.; Nieces: Theda Johnson of Somerset, KY., Lenora Sizemore & Martin of Hyden, KY., Margaret Jackson of Manchester, KY. and Martha Smith & Ronnie of Manchester, KY.; Nephews: Woody Jackson & Yvette of Manchester, KY. and Wally Jackson & Faye of Manchester, KY.; A host of other treasured relatives & friends also survive. Funeral services for Mr. John Herman Maggard will be conducted on Wednesday ~ Dec. 21, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home ~ Hyden, KY. with Rev. Ronnie Smith and Mack Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow in the Brewer Cemetery ~ Wooton, KY. Military Rites will be performed by the Leslie Co. DAV Chapter #133. The following will serve as Pallbearers: Mac Whitaker, Floyd Whitaker, Lonnie Fee, Ryan Fee, Dylan Fee and Ryan Jackson.
