She was 56 years of age at the time of her passing. Martha Sue was the daughter of Rose Asher and the late James Ervin. By occupation Martha Sue was employed at the Hazard Nursing Home in Hazard, KY. She had been a lifelong resident of Leslie County. She enjoyed being involved in the lives of her grandchildren & great grandchild, watching movies, her work and cooking. She was affiliated with the Church of God. She was preceded in death by her Dad: James Ervin; Biological Father: Columbus Pennington; Step-Father: Frank Reaves; Maternal Grandparents: Lige & Dallie Asher; Paternal Grandparents: Elhannon & Flora Pennington; Brother-In-Law: Bruce Napier; Brother: Chris Pennington. Martha Sue leaves the following relatives surviving: Mother: Rose Ervin of Wooton, KY.; Father of Children: Malcom Coots; Sons: Timothy Malcom Coots, Jr. & Wendy of Lancaster, KY., Danny Wayne Coots & Amy of Hyden, KY. and Randal Scott Coots & Jessica Nicole of Hyden, KY.; Daughter: Benita Carol Asher & Larry of Hyden, KY.; Brothers: Rick Ervin & Ruth Ann of Mozelle, KY., Greg Ervin & Heidi of Wooton, KY., Michael Ervin & Mother of Children, Jennifer of Wooton, KY., Bradley Pennington of Harlan, KY. and Timmy & Abby of Harlan, KY.; Sisters: Marie Dabney & Mike of Harlan, KY., Etta Brewer & James of Harlan, KY. and Barbara Napier of Harlan, KY.; 15 Grandchildren and 1 Great Grandchild also survive her passing. Funeral services for Ms. Martha Sue Coots will be conducted on Monday - February 21, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Alfred Smith & Rev. Teddy Couch officiating. Burial will follow the funeral services at the Asher Family Cemetery at Wooton, KY.
