Ronnie Wells Mr. Elmer Floyd Wells "Elmer Fudd" born May 1, 1941 departed this life on October 14, 2008 at the Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tennessee. He was 67 years, 5 months, & 13 days old. Elmer was born at Hyden, Ky., the son of the late Floyd Wells & Alpha Browning Wells. Elmer was the retired owner of E.F. Wells Trucking, Smilax, Ky., and was contracted to haul coal for Leslie Resources. He was affiliated with the Cutshin Bible Church, Cutshin, Ky., & enjoyed classic cars & Nascar as hobbies. Elmer was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having honorably served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Elmer Wells was a life - long resident of Leslie Co., with the exception of living in Middletown, Ohio for a short period of time. Elmer was a resident of 119 Alpha Lane, Smilax, Ky., at the time of his death. Mr. Elmer Floyd Wells was preceded in death by his wife: Ruby Gail Baker Wells, parents: Floyd & Alpha Browning Wells, three brothers: Denver, Clinton, & George Daniel Wells, one sister, Lena Wells Morgan, father-in-law & mother-in-law: Grant Baker Sr., & Rittie Caudill Baker, sister-in-law: Opal Baker Farler, five brother-in-laws: Linz Baker, Lonnie Baker, Happy Baker, Jr. France, & Boyd Morgan. Mr. Elmer Floyd Wells leaves the following relatives surviving: one daughter:Rittie Lynn Wells of Smilax, Ky., three brothers: Burley Wells and wife, Freda, of Wooton, Ky., Otis Wells and wife, Lois, of London, Ky., Richard Wells and wife, Gail, of Wooton, Ky., five sisters: Viola Pollard and husband, William "Bill" of Wooton, Ky., Irene Engle and husband, Felix, of Middletown, Ohio, Doris Williams and husband, Otis, of Keavy, Ky., Polly Maggard and husband, Chris, of Smilax, Ky., Lorraine France of Wooton, Ky.,three sister-in-laws: Janneth Wells, Mary Belle Jones,& Geneva Wilson, three brother-in-laws: Reuben Baker, Watson Foister Baker, Grant Baker, Jr., & a host of treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to mourn his death. The funeral for Mr. Elmer Floyd Wells "Elmer Fudd", will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. - Friday, October 17, 2008 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, Hyden, Ky., with Rev. Billy Joe Lewis & Rev. Ronnie Wells officiating. The interment will follow in the Floyd Wells Family Cemetery, Smilax, Ky. with full-military rites conducted by the Leslie Co. D.A.V. Chapter # 133.
