Carl Brown Mrs. Nancy Roark Collett, 83, of 372 Sasser Branch Road, Essie, Ky. departed this life on Saturday, March 24, 2012 in Dayton, Ohio. She was born at Roark, Kentucky the daughter of the late Gabbard Roark and the late Mathie Collett. By occupation she was a homemaker and had been life-long resident of Leslie County, Kentucky. Nancy was a member of the Bowen's Creek United Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, and flower gardening as hobbies. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents: Gabbard & Mathie; husband:Bentley Collett, one daughter: Ruth Brock & her husband: Ed; 2 brothers: Denzil Roark and Roy Roark; 3 sisters: Anna Lee Asher, Betty Shepherd, Lena Mae Napier 1 son-in-law: Willard Griffith; 4 grandchildren: Patrick Barrett, Dora Ruth Griffith, Willard Wayne Griffith, & Shelby Ray Griffith. She leaves surviving the following relatives: 2 sons; France Collett & Retha of Essie, KY, Alvin Collett & Pansy of Mozelle, KY, 2 daughters: Betty Slusher & Otis of Smith, KY; Joan Barrett & Ulysses of Essie, KY; 4 brothers: Frank Roark of Asher, Ky, Scott Roark of Warbranch, KY, Robert "Bob" Roark of Warbranch, KY, Omus Shepherd & Nadine of Hyden, KY. Also survived by 21 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and a host of great great grandchildren as well as other treasured relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Roark Collett will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday-March 29, 2012 at the Bowen's Creek United Baptist Church at Essie, KY, with Rev. Taylor Adams and Rev. Carl Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Collett Family Cemetery at Essie, KY. Friends may call for visitation at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday- March 28, 2012 at the church.
