The obituary of Mrs. Christine Mills Jones Officiating Minister: Rev. Bob Rice and Rev. Delmer Gross Mrs. Christine Mills Jones born August 5, 1917 departed this life on April 18, 2009 at the age of 91 years, 8 months and 13 days old. She was born at Barbourville, KY the daughter of the late Eugene Bingham and the late Lillie Liford Bingham. By occupation she was a homemaker and had been a resident of Leslie County for the last 55 years having moved here from Knox County. Christine enjoyed quilting, flower gardening and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Christine was preceded in death by her parents: Eugene & Lillie Bingham, husband and father of children: Edward Mills, second husband: Ishmael Jones, three sons; Parker Mills, Carl Mills and Donald Mills, four brothers: B.J. Bingham, Cecil Bingham, Alonzo "Buddy" Bingham, Don Bingham, seven sisters: Wilma Bingham, Molly Bingham, Bobbi Jo Bingham, Pauline Bingham Mills, Dathan Matta, Myrtle Asbury, & Billie Bingham Mills. Christine leaves surviving the following relatives: four sons: Eugene Mills & Cassie of Saul, KY, Glen Mills & Marilyn of Hyden, KY, Randel Mills & Bonnie of London, KY, Eddie Mills & Joyce of Manchester, KY, three daughters: Lillie Mae Bundy of Hyden, KY, Helen Couch & Jr. of London, KY and Peggy Howard & Alonzo of Hyden, KY, two sisters: Brenda Bingham of London, Ky, Gerri Bingham Sizemore of Barbourville, KY, one brother: Terry Bingham, special nephew; Dobbin Bingham of Knox County. Christine is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and a host of great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other treasured relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Mills Jones will be held at 3 p.m. - Tuesday - April 21, 2009 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel at Hyden, KY with Rev. Bob Rice & Rev. Delmer Gross officiating. Burial will follow in the Mills Family Cemetery at Hyden (Short Creek), KY with her Grandsons and Great Grandsons serving as pallbearers: Vincent Mills, Eddie Joseph, Calvin Mills, Daniel Mills, Chris Devers and Rick Devers.
