The obituary of Mr. Bernard Mattingly Officiating Ministers: Clemmie Joseph, Caleb Sizemore & David Sizemore Mr. Bernard Mattingly born February 28, 1932 departed this life on Novemeber 22, 2009 at the age of 77 years. He was born in Leslie County the son of the late William Ramey Mattingly and the late Nellie Morgan Mattingly. By occupation he was a retired coal miner, and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. Bernard was affiliated with the Church of God, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Nellie two brothers: Woodrow and Holt Mattingly, one sister: Juanita. He leaves surviving the following relatives, wife: Nancy Ruth Sizemore Mattingly of Stinnett, KY, step-mother: Rose Mattingly of Hyden, KY, three sons: Lincoln Wayne Mattingly of Stinnett, KY, Wade Mattingly & Regina of Hyden, KY, Victor Mattingly of Hyden, KY, four daughters: Norma Lowe & Jay of Hyden, KY, Elsie Mattingly & Gene of Hyden, Ky, Sally Faye Jones & Sherman of Somerset, KY, Jackie Morgan Lowe of Stinnett, KY, three brothers; Tinsley Mattingly, Bill Mattingly, and Ronald Mattingly all of Hyden, KY, three step-brothers: Warren Hoskins, of London, Ky, Vernon Hoskins of Hyden, KY and Carlos Hoskins of London, KY, two sisters: Rita of Arizona and Mildred Slone of Hyden, KY, ten grandchildren: Jessica & Brandon, Douglas, Brian & Jody, Melissa & Amos, Trista & Jason, Amanda, Eric & Angela, Jennifer & James, Sheryl and Tori. Bernard is also survived by 18 great grandchildren and a special friend: Brandon Fields of Smilax, KY A host of other treasured relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Bernard Mattingly will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday- November 25, 2009 at the Parkway Holiness Church at Thousandsticks, KY, with Clemmie Joseph, Caleb Sizemore and David Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow in the Bernard Mattingly Cemetery at Stinnett, Kentucky under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Staff. The following will serve as pallbearers: Gene Morgan, Jaye Lowe, Brandon Fields, Eric Mattingly, Jason Combs, Victor Mattingly, Douglas North, Larry Swafford, other family and friends.
