The obituary of Mr. Curtis Wells Officiating Ministers: Danny Day & Thomas Lowe Mr. Curtis Wells was born November 24, 1934 and departed this life on Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center, Hazard, Ky. He was 76 years & 23 days old at the time of his passing. Curtis was born at Cutshin, Ky., the son of the late Robert Wells and Rhoda Pennington Wells. Curtis was a retired coal miner having worked a total of 35 years in the coal mines. He was employed 32 years with the Blue Diamond Coal Co., Leatherwood, Ky. Curtis was an avid fisherman & hunter, most importantly he enjoyed being involved in the lives of children, grandchildren, & great-grandchildren. Curtis was preceded in death by his loving & devoted wife: Mary Lee Williams Wells; his parents: Robert Wells & Rhoda Pennington Wells; one brother: Carlos Wells and two sisters: Goldie Lewis & Nola Joseph. Mr. Curtis Wells leaves the following relatives surviving: two sons: Tommy Ray Wells, Sr. & wife, Sandy, of Wooton, Ky. and Michael Day & wife, Paulette, of Smilax, Ky.; two daughters: Anna Hanlon and husband, Dale, of Hazard, Ky. and Zita Faye Lewis of Hazard, Ky.; 12 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, & one great great grandchild to be born & a host of treasured nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. The funeral service for Mr. Curtis Wells will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. - Monday - December 20, 2010 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Danny Day & Thomas Lowe officiating. The interment will follow in the Larkin Lewis Cemetery, Smilax, Ky., under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Staff. The following will serve as Pallbearers: James Boles, John Wells, Brian Hanlon, Dale Hanlon, Tommy Wells, Jr., Tommy Wells, Sr., Justin Lewis & Michael Day.
