The obituary of Mrs. Ruth Morgan Officiating Ministers: William Craig Melton and Dr. Tommy Watkins Mrs. Ruth Morgan, 84, of Bardstown, Ky., formerly of Wendover, Ky., departed this life on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Flaget Memorial Hospital, Bardstown, Ky. Ruth was the widow of the late Jahugh "Jakie" Morgan. Ruth was born in Stockton, Illinois the daughter of the late Oscar Offenheiser and the late Beryl Finkinbinder. By occupation she worked 10 years at JC Penny in Free Port, Illinois. She was a personal secretary of Mrs. Mary Breckinridge at Frontier Nursing Service. Ruth was the Head of the Department for Fund Raising and receiving donations at F.N.S. where she retired . She was very instrumental in assisting Mary Breckinridge with the writing of her book "Wide Neighborhoods." Ruth was preceded in death by her parents: Oscar and Beryl, beloved husband: Jahugh "Jakie" Morgan, one daughter: Janet Lewis and three brothers: Melvin, Eugene, Jerry and Nephew: Todd Offenheiser. She leaves surviving the following relatives: two sons: Joel C. Morgan & Connie of London, KY, David Morgan & Brenda of London, KY, one daughter: Barbara Cornett & Sammy of Bardstown, KY. special aunt: Alice Sculley, special nieces: Agnes Melton and Lillian Hayes, eight Grandchildren: Emilie Morgan Smith & Jason, Julie Howard, Traci Degenhart & Ged, Amy Barnard, Brian Howard, Brandon Morgan & Fiance Haley Edwards, Quentin Morgan & Tiffany, Jason Lewis and Jimmy Joe Morgan & Fiance Kayla Helton, 13 Great Grandchildren: Maddox, Abby, Megan, Zach, Hudson, Austin, Blake, Emma, Joseph, Walker, Gavin, Brice, Ethan and one to be born in Dec. 2013. Special Great Nieces: Ava Napier, Iris Napier, Hannah, Lily Watkins. Ruth is also survived by a host of treasured nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews in Illinois and Wisconsin. Two very special Sister-In-Laws: Kay Offenheiser of Mtn. Home, AR, and Charlice Offenheiser of Elizabeth, IL. Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth Morgan will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2013 at the Camp Creek Church of Christ at Wendover, KY with William Craig melton and Dr. Tommy Watkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Morgan-Cornet Cemetery at Wendover, KY. Friends may call for visitation at 6:00 p.m. Thursday- June 27, 2013 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel and also from 1:00p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Friday at the church.
