She passed away on Monday, August 9, 2010 at residence in Dayton, Ohio at the age of 62 years, 1 month & 14 days. Bernice was a homemaker & had been a resident of Dayton, Ohio for the past 40 years, prior to living at Essie, Ky. She was affiliated with the Lower Bowens Creek United Methodist Church at Essie, Ky. She love animals & enjoyed gardening. Bernice Barrett Holland was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Elizabeth Collett & brothers, Joe, Harrison & Thomas Barrett. She leaves the following relatives surviving: husband: Glen Holland of Dayton, Ohio; brother, Wiley Barrett & Brenda of Essie, KY.; sisters: Opal Bailey of Roark,Ky. & Ada Whitehill of Shenandoah, Iowa; brother-in-laws & sister-in-laws: Winferd & Noreda Holland, Eugene & Doris Holland, Frances & Elmer Sizemore & Hattie & Thomas Marcum, also a host of other relatives & friends survive. Funeral service for Bernice Barrett Holland will be conducted by the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Lower Bowens Creek United Methodist Church at Essie, Ky., with Rev. Chuck Jack & Dan Griffiths officiating. Burial will follow in the Holland family Cemetery at Essie, Ky.
