The Obituary for Bonnie Marie Napier Officiating Ministers: Pastor Steve Springer & Pastor Robert Amundsen Bonnie Marie Napier was born on March 21, 1930 in Hyden, Ky., to the late Steelie & Oda Shepherd Young. She passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at the Mary Breckinridge Hospital in Hyden, Ky., at the age of 80 years, 8 months & 9 days. Bonnie had been a life-long resident of Leslie Co. She was a home-maker & had worked 8 years for the Leslie Co. Senior Citizens. Bonnie was a devoted member of the Thousandsticks United Methodist Church at Thousandsticks, KY. where she was very active, she enjoyed working in the church store. Bonnie volunteered to assist victims as a member of a Hurricane Andrew Relief team. Bonnie enjoyed the following as hobbies: quilting, flower gardening,puzzles & traveling with her family & friends, she especially enjoyed going to the beach. Bonnie Marie Napier was preceded in death by: her parents: Steelie & Oda Shepherd Young, her beloved husband: Mack Napier, one daughter: Gloria Jean, one brother: Everett Spurlock & one sister: Geneva Farris She leaves the following relatives surviving: 2 sons: William Napier & Grace of Thousandsticks, KY. & Willard Napier of Hyden, KY., 4 daughters: Linda Collett & Alson of Hyden, KY., Diana Melton & Richard "Dickie" of Hyden, Ky., Bobbi Deaton & Dale of Versailles, Ky. & Mary Ann Hoskins & Pat of London, KY., 2 brothers: Glenn Fields of Corbin, Ky. & Elton Spurlock of Corbin, KY., 14 grandchildren: Bonnie, Greg, Melinda, Justin, Genia, Paul, Jennifer, Holleigh, Tricia, Bethany, Gloria, Kristy, Jeremy & Kyle, 3 Step-Grandchildren: Trina Hensley, Sonya Stegemiller & Joey Hoskins & 13 great-grandchildren. Also a host of other relatives & friends survive. Funeral service for Bonnie Marie Napier will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. -Friday, December 3, 2010 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home, Hyden, Ky., with Pastor Steve Springer & Pastor Robert Amundsen officiating. The interment will follow in the Napier Family Cemetery, Thousandsticks, Ky. The following will serve as pallbearers: Greg Collett, Justin Collett, Paul Melton, Kyle Napier, Jeff Sharp, Jamie Rojem, Bill Brock, David Woods, Ray Morton & Jon Sizemore.
