He passed away on Friday, July 9, 2010 at his residence at 1449 Hwy.#406, Stinnett, Ky. at the age of 87 years, 3 months & 27 days. Ernest was a life-long resident of Stinnett, Ky. with the exception of living 16 years in Ohio. By occupation Ernest served honorably in the U. S. Army during World War II obtaining the rank of Staff Sgt. in the 106 th Infantry, 422nd Regiment. He was employed by General Motors while residing in Ohio, & owned and operated Roberts Garage & General Store for 23 years at Stinnett, Ky. Ernest was a Elder, song leader & Faithful Member of the Stinnett Church of Christ at Hoskinston, KY. He enjoyed working, fishing, gardening and hunting. Ernest Roberts was preceded in death by his parents: Johnny & Hallie Roberts, brothers: Orpheus & Dewey Roberts, half-brother: Russell Hacker, sister: Pauline Fields & daughter-in-law: Elaine Begley Roberts He leaves the following relatives surviving: his loving and devoted wife: Bernice Farmer Roberts of Stinnett, KY., daughter: Linda S. Roberts Collett & Bob of Springboro, Ohio, son: Rick Roberts & girlfriend: Della Roberts of Stinnett, KY., brothers: Okley Roberts of Ohio & Calvin R. Roberts of Ohio, sisters: Hazel Howard of Somerset, Ky., Lorena Biser of Ohio, Virginia Wells of Stinnett, Ky. & Elda Ruth Barrett of Michigan, grandchildren: Robert A. Collett, Stephanie D. Seagraves, Ernest R. Roberts & Whitney M. Roberts & great-grandhchildren: Zachary A. Seagraves & Kayla D. Seagraves. Also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends survive. The Roberts family would like to take this opportunity to express their heart-felt appreciation to Ernest's sister, Virginia Wells, Hazel Howard & to Katie, Susan & all the Hospice Staff for their sincere and genuine care with Ernest during his illness. Funeral service will be conducted by the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home on Sunday, July 11, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Stinnett Church of Christ at Hoskinston, KY. with Danny Day, Keith Bowling, & Roger Farmer officiating. The interment will follow in the Bowens Creek Cemetery at Essie, Ky. with full Military rites observed by the Leslie Co. DAV Chapter #133. The following will serve as pallbearers: Robert A.
