The obituary of Mrs. Rose Asher Officiating Ministers: James Bowling,Jr. and Keith Bowling Mrs. Rose Asher was born on October 29, 1926 and departed this life on April 27, 2010 at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 29 days old. She was born at Stinnett, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Walter Baker and the late Chaney Smith Baker. By occupation she was a retired elementary school teacher and worked for the Leslie County Board of Education. Rose enjoyed gardening, sewing and quilting as hobbies and had been a life-long resident of Leslie County, KY. Rose Asher was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Chaney Baker, husband: Ova Asher, Sisters: Eva Morgan, Retha Hammersoly, Margaret Cox & Dorothy Estridge & Brothers: Mack & Miller Baker She leaves surviving the following relatives: two daughters: Lottie Carolyn Gosser & Roger of Corbin, KY, Frances Marie Pennington & Richard of Stinnett, KY; two brothes: John Baker of London, Ky. & Maynard Baker of Hazard, Ky., six sisters: Grace Howard of Stinnett, Ky.,Pauline Roberts of Stinnett, KY.,Barbara Brock of Tennessee, Faye Taylor of Texas, Maltie Sizemore of London & Carty Ann Schwertfeger of Michigan, five grandchildren: Lesley Turner, Sean Gosser, Andrew Pennington, Brandon Pennington, Benjamin Gosser; four great grandchildren: Riley Turner, Logan Turner, Noah Turner and Tannis Pennington & a host of beloved nieces and nephews. Mrs. Rose Asher is also survived by a host of other treasured relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Asher will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. - Saturday - May 1, 2010 at the Stinnett Pentecostal Church with James Bowling, Jr. and Keith Bowling officiating. Burial will follow in the Baker Cemetery located at Stinnett (Mason Hollow), Kentucky. Her grandsons will serve as her pallbearers.
