The obituary of Donald Lee "Yogi" Herring Officiating Ministers: Rev. Teddy Couch and Rev. Rachel Davison Mr. Donald Lee "Yogi" Herring born January 3, 1956 departed this life on October 21, 2008 at the age of 52 years, 9 months and 18 days old. He was born in Germany, the son of Mary Lee Johnson and the late Frank Herring. By occupation he was Supervisor for Storm Security Company and had been a former Leslie County Deputy Sheriff. He had also served in the Job Corp organization, and enjoyed computer technology, fishing, cooking and humor. Mr. Donald Lee Herring was affiliated with the Baptist Church, and had been a resident of Leslie County for the past 20 years, having lived formerly in Mississippi and Atlanta. Donald was preceded in death by his Father: Frank Herring; One Brother: Frankie Herring and his Father-In-Law: Ford Bowling. He leaves surviving the following relatives: Mother and Step-Father: Mary Lee Johnson and Husband Guy Johnson of Lena, MS; Wife: Joannn Bowling Herring of Stinnett, KY; Mother-In-Law: Faye Bowling of Stinnett, KY; One Daughter: Heather Herring Porter and Gray, One Brother: Scottie Butler & Sheila of Louisville, MS; Two Sisters: Diane Gilbert of Lena MS; Debbie Copeland & Ray of Louisville, MS; Three Grandchildren: Kaleb, Luke and Leigh Allyn Porter; Special Nephew: Brandon Mills; Special Niece: Kristy Powers. He is also survived by a host of other treasured relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Donald Lee "Yogi" Herring will be conducted at 1 P.M. Friday - October 24, 2008 at the Rockhouse Pentecostal Church with Rev. Teddy Couch and Rev. Rachel Davison officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowling-Napier Cemetery at Hyden (Puncheon Camp) , KY under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Staff. The following will serve as pallbearers: Timmy Gilbert, Robbie Gilbert, Brandon Mills, Gray Edwards, Greg Barrett, Ben Turner and Josh Barger.
