The Obituary of Mr. Robert Roberts Officiating Ministers: Rev. Geoffery Roberts, Rev. Fred Disney and Rev. Vernon Willard Mr. Robert Roberts was born on April 25, 1920 and departed this life on Saturday - June 18, 2011 at the Mary Breckinridge Hospital in Hyden, KY. He was 91 years of age at the time of his passing. Robert was born at Stinnett, KY the son of the late John Roberts and the late Elizabeth Bray Roberts. By occupation he was a retired coal miner, logger and railroad construction worker. Mr. Robert Roberts was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He enjoyed digging ginseng, gardening, watching U.K. Basketball and especially going to Church. Robert was a faithful member of the Stinnett Gap Church of God since 1947 and had served as church clerk for many years. Robert was a great inspiration to his children, grandchildren, & great-grandchildren. Mr. Robert Roberts was a life-long resident of Leslie County, Kentucky. Mr. Robert Roberts was preceded in death by his Parents: John and Elizabeth; Son: Jonathan; Daughter: Janet; Grandson: Brandon D. Napier and a host of brothers and sisters. He leaves surviving the following relatives: His Loving and Devoted Wife united in marriage on July 3, 1946: Mary Gross Roberts of Stinnett, KY.; Sons: William Hoy Roberts & Wilma Jean of Hyden, KY., Oral Roberts & Sandy Pace of Stinnett, KY. Rev. Geoffery Roberts & Christina of Stinnett, KY.; Daughters: Dianniah Ruth Feltner & Bill of Burlington, MI., Ruby Melinda Napier & Dennis of Tekonsha, MI., Gwendolyn Morgan & Stephen of Stinnett, KY., Roxanna Combs & Randall of Hyden, KY.; Brothers: Hoy Roberts of Viola, Illinois, Floyd Roberts & Rose Nell of Stinnett, KY. and Dee Roberts & Virgie of Stinnett, KY. He is also survived by 15 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Mr. Robert Roberts will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Wednesday - June 22, 2011 at the Stinnett Gap Church of God with Rev. Geoffery Roberts, Rev. Vernon Willard and Rev. Fred Disney officiating. There will also be an Eulogy reading by William Hoy Roberts. Full Military Rites will be observed by the Leslie Co. D.A.V. Chapter # 133 at the Stinnett Gap Church of God immediately following the service. The interment will follow in the Roberts Family Cemetery at Stinnett, KY. The following will serve as Pallbearers: David Roberts, Eric Roberts, Bobby Roberts, Jonathan Kolby Combs, Jake Boley, Greg Feltner, Scott Lewis, Todd Horton, Billy Collett, Nicholas Napier & Joe Beder.
