The Obituary of Mrs. Ophia Woods Officiating Minister: Rev. Logan Wayne Bowling Mrs. Ophia Woods born March 20, 1921 departed this life on August 08, 2009 at the Mary Breckinridge Hospital, Hyden, Ky. She was 88 years, 4 months, & 18 days old. Ophia was born at Thousandsticks, Ky. the daughter of the late Will Osborne & Sophia Sizemore Osborne. The late, Mrs. Jane Salyers Osborne, Ophia's step -mother, also helped raise Ophia in her formative years. Ophia was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing, & quilting. She was a member of the Church of God & was a life-long resident of Leslie Co., residing at 464 Sugar Camp Branch Road, Thousandsticks, Ky., at the time of her death. Ophia Woods was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, one infant son, one granddaughter, Carolyn Ruth Parks & her husband, Danny, two son-in-laws, Bill Roberts & Ray Allen Sizemore, & 6 brothers & one sister. Mrs. Ophia Woods leaves the following relatives surviving: her loving & devoted husband of 61 years, Herbert Woods of Thousandsticks, Ky., one son: Buster Woods & wife, Deborah, of Thousandsticks, Ky.,four daughters: Aultie & husband, Kermit Woods, of London, Ky., Sarah Roberts of Somerset, Ky., Rowena Sizemore of Jacksonville, Texas, Irene Sizemore of Thousandsticks, Ky., one twin sister: Ora Woods of Hyden, Ky., one brother: Kurt Osborne of East Bernsstadt, Ky., 12 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and a host of other treasured relatives and friends. The funeral service for Mrs. Ophia Woods will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. - Tuesday - August 11, 2009 at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Logan Wayne Bowling officiating. The interment will follow in the Herbert & Ophia Woods Family Cemetery, located at Thousandsticks, Ky., under the direction of the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home staff.
