Dwayne Yost Maynard Estep was born on June 22, 1946 at Hyden, KY., the son of the late Cloyd & Elizabeth Roark Estep. He passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at the Veterans Medical Center in Lexington, KY. at the age of 65 years, 7 months & 22 days. Maynard was a life-long resident of Leslie & Clay Co. By occupation he was a retired heavy equipment operator (coal mining). He was a U.S. Army Vietnam War Veteran. He was of the Baptist Faith. Maynard was currently commander of the Leslie Co. DAV Chapter #133. He enjoyed visiting with others, hunting, fishing, & bluegrass music. Maynard Estep was preceded in death by his parents & two brothers: Herbert & John L. Estep He leaves the following relatives surviving: His loving & devoted wife: Linda Carmack Estep of Big Creek, Ky., one son: Eric Estep & Glenda of Hyden, KY., one daughter: Mayme Farmer & Chris of Big Creek, Ky., two brothers: Victor Estep & Jan of Stinnett, KY. & Adrain Estep & Karen of Elk Creek, KY., two sisters: Marilyn Zobrist & Doug of Dayton Ohio & Carolyn Joy Jones of Corbin, KY., three grandchildren: Tyler Farmer, Zachary Estep & Olivia Estep. Also a host of other relatives & friends survive. Funeral service will be on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Dwayne Walker Funeral Home Chapel, Hyden, KY., with Rev. Cleve Bowling, Rev. Teddy Collett & Rev. Dwayne Yost officiating. Burial will follow in the Estep Family Cemetery at Big Creek, Ky. with Military Rites observed by the Leslie Co. DAV Chapter #133. The following will serve as pallbearers: Mayme Farmer, Chris Farmer, Tyler Farmer, Eric Estep, Robbie Roark & Doug Zobrist.
